The degree o...It does seem strange, doesn't it. The degree of separation with language and culture makes it easier for us to handle the Cuban politics than the US though, and in Cuba there is less chance of doing any actual harm to our kids or ourselves. With all the race-centric (Trump) garbage we see in the US right now, and with the police baiting and anger we see especially in the south, Cuba was a safer and friendlier choice. It was also a lot cheaper, faster, and easier. So Cuba won out.
